One of our favourite things to do when we go down to the peninsula is to have fish and chips on the Beach. Something about sitting on the sand and staring out to the endless blue sea makes seafood tastes so much better. Fish Fetish in Sorrento is one of our favourite places to grab some fish and head to the beach!
The shop is always busy. It's undergone a bit of a tranformation since our last visit so the waiting area is bigger than before. I enjoy standing there watching the endless orders being taken and filled, and particularly like the old fashion overhead string-and-lever system of passing the orders down to the cooks.
The menu is the usual standard fish and chip shop fare. The chips here are very good and very crispy! The fish have always been of a high standard and very fresh.
We had grilled and battered fish. Both good and really just up to your preference! |
Incidentally we picked up this awesome umbrella tent on the way down to the peninsula recently. Our baby is still small and needed shade and somewhere to lie down. It's light, minimises the amount of sand going up my shorts, and cost <$20 at Anaconda. One of the best "baby buys" we've made!
Eat.Play.Shop. Recommends : The Blue Granadier, which always seems to be the fish of the day when we go there, is excellent and good sized.
Give it a Miss : if you want to eat there. There are a few tables outside the shop but are usually as sought after as the real estate in the area.
